Snow is tracking across the northern half of Minnesota Tuesday.
The weak low-pressure system brings light snow to many areas into Tuesday night. Light accumulation are occurring on roadways in northern Minnesota. Here’s the mid-afternoon scene from Duluth along Highway 53.
Light accumulations
It’s been a tough year for big snow accumulations. This system will bring an inch or less to most areas, with the potential for one to three inches favoring the tip of Minnesota’s Arrowhead.
With temperatures in the teens across northern Minnesota, even light accumulations will make for slick roads in spots. Drive accordingly.
The longer-range forecast shows several chances for snow across northern Minnesota before Christmas. The best chance for the Twin Cities appears to be next Wednesday.
