It looks a lot like March across northern Minnesota Tuesday.
Our swirling April snow system is piling up some respectable snowfall totals across northern Minnesota. Many locations report several inches of springtime fluff and slush.
Here are some snowfall totals coming in as of Tuesday afternoon.
1 SW Bemidji [Beltrami Co, MN] PUBLIC reports SNOW of 2.50 INCH at 10:00 AM CDT -- SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT.
5 NE Brainerd [Crow Wing Co, MN] TRAINED SPOTTER reports SNOW of 3.00 INCH at 8:15 AM CDT --
4 ENE Pillager [Cass Co, MN] TRAINED SPOTTER reports SNOW of 3.00 INCH at 7:40 AM CDT --
7 WSW Pine River [Cass Co, MN] TRAINED SPOTTER reports SNOW of 3.00 INCH at 11:28 AM CDT --
Greenbush [Roseau Co, MN] CO-OP OBSERVER reports SNOW of 4.30 INCH at 7:00 AM CDT -- 24 HR SNOWFALL.
Check out this interesting snow swirl rotating around a vortex west of Duluth. This feature dropped a quick 2 to 3 inches of snow in Aitkin County.
Snow winds down tonight
The snowfall will gradually wind down across northern Minnesota tonight into Wednesday morning. Most areas will pick up less than an inch of additional snowfall.
