Highs will reach 70 all the way to the Canadian border Saturday. Highs push to and beyond 80 degrees for most of southern Minnesota Saturday afternoon. And southwest towns like Appleton, Pipestone, and Luverne, Minn., could push the 90-degree mark around 4 p.m. Saturday.

Scattered showers Sunday

Sunday brings cooler temperatures, some scattered rain and thunder to southern Minnesota. There will be many dry hours Sunday, but a couple of hours of showers are possible.

Cooler next week

The warm air is in no hurry to linger this spring. Cooler air returns next week. Highs will be around the 60-degree mark in the Twin Cities much of next week, with 50s common up north.
