It’s been an interesting spring across Minnesota.
April started out very warm with highs in the 70s and 80s across Minnesota. But the last 30 days have run about 2 to 6 degrees cooler than average across the Upper Midwest. Check out the 30-day temperature departure map from the Midwest Regional Climate Center.
Pattern change ahead
Our upper air pattern across North America is about to shift to a warmer pattern once again. High pressure brings more sunshine to Minnesota starting Tuesday. Highs the rest of this week climb back through the 60s.
By Friday highs temperatures will push toward the 70-degree mark across much of Minnesota.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s temperature outlooks strongly favor warmer than average temperatures for the last two weeks of May. The average high and low in the Twin Cities next Monday are 70 and 49 degrees.
