Minnesota lawmakers meeting in a special session are voting Thursday on the first four pieces of a new state budget. The first votes will pay for programs around higher education, agriculture, energy and outdoor and cultural heritage.
Legislative leaders have hinted the public safety budget bill will likely be the last across the finish line. That’s because it’s not clear which new police accountability measures will be included in that bill. Democrats have pushed for several, and so far, Republicans have been more hesitant.
