Bow echo: Storms tear through Twin Cities. Here are some wind gusts damage reports

Wind gusts over 60 mph, trees down in some areas.

A fast-moving bow echo on radar produced wind damage and brief but torrential rains across the greater Twin Cities area Thursday afternoon.

The storms had a big impact on the first day of the Minnesota State Fair.

The Twin Cities National Weather Service cranked out multiple severe thunderstorm warnings between about 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The storms produced several wind gusts over 60 mph, with scattered reports of tree damage.

More rain later

Forecast models differ on the timing of the next rain surge. Some suggest storms will redevelop across central Minnesota and the Twin Cities this evening. Some suggest after midnight.
