Yet another late summer-like weekend is on the way for Minnesota. In October.
A low-pressure system will track for northwest Minnesota this weekend. The system pulls another wedge of warm air ahead of it Friday and Saturday. Friday brings highs in the 70s well north into northern Minnesota once again, with highs near 80 in southwest Minnesota.
Highs will push the 80-degree mark once again in western Minnesota and probably the Twin Cities by Saturday afternoon.
Rainfall favors northern Minnesota
The low-pressure system will generate scattered showers and thunderstorms across most of northern Minnesota with fewer showers in the southern half of Minnesota. The Canadian model paints scattered rains across the region this weekend.
Rainfall totals across northern Minnesota will likely reach an inch in many areas. Very little rain will fall across most of southern Minnesota through this weekend. Note the sharp cutoff in rainfall south of the St. Cloud area.
Cooler next week
Cooler air seeps southward into Minnesota Sunday behind the system. Highs will be in the 60s for most of next week across most of Minnesota.
