The calendar says it’s late November. But today’s weather maps look a lot more October than Nov. 23.
Mild southerly breezes have invaded Minnesota once again with another unseasonably warm air mass. Temperatures surged into the 60s across much of southwest Minnesota Tuesday afternoon.
The Twin Cities record high for Nov. 23 is 55 degrees set in 1905. The temperature in the Twin Cities is already at 53 degrees and getting close to that record in the 2 p.m. hour.
Cold front tomorrow
Our near-record warm-up is a one-day event this week. A cold front sweeps south Wednesday, and though temperatures will start off mild, temperatures will plunge behind the front by late Wednesday.
Thanksgiving Day looks dry, but cold across Minnesota. Highs will hover in the teens north and 20s across south Thursday.
