We had another upside-down temperature day in southern Minnesota. In the Twin Cities, our high temperature for the day of 37 degrees occurred around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning as a milder Pacific air mass was drawn up briefly ahead of our advancing arctic front.
Temperatures will fall through Tuesday night and bottom out around 3 below zero in the Twin Cities and negative 20 up north early Wednesday.
Highs Wednesday hover a few degrees either side of the zero mark across Minnesota.
Thursday morning brings the coldest air of this arctic outbreak. Lows should bottom out around 10 below zero in the inner Twin Cities, with negative 15 in some northern suburbs. Lows will reach 30 below zero in parts of northern Minnesota Thursday morning.
Saturday brings another milder day, just in time for the weekend. Highs will warm into the 20s again across much of Minnesota Saturday, with 30s in southwestern Minnesota.
