A narrow area of snow and light rain showers is moving across central Minnesota and western Wisconsin through the morning hours Monday. Most of the Twin Cities will end up with under 1 inch of snow but north of the Twin Cities some spots will see 2 to 3 inches. Some southern suburbs could also see up to 1 to 2 inches with a mid morning heavy burst of snow. Already as of 8 a.m., Albertville reported 4 inches of snow.

Skies will clear late Monday afternoon allowing for some sun the last couple hours of the day.

Even a little sunshine will allow temperatures to warm into the upper 30s and 40s across southern Minnesota to near 30 in the north Monday.

Those clearing skies will lead to some chilly temps across the state Monday night into early Tuesday with teens in the north and 20s south. Watch out for refreezing early Tuesday morning.

The warm up really gets going Tuesday with highs in the 50s to even low 60s in the southwest part of Minnesota, 40s north.

Wednesday will bring even warmer temperatures and possibly our first 60 in the Twin Cities.

A cool front moves across Minnesota dropping temperatures slightly for Thursday and Friday and touching off perhaps a few light rain showers, especially for northern Minnesota Wednesday.

Temperatures will trend upward again this weekend with another chance at 60 for the Twin Cities Sunday, which is also when the Vernal Equinox occurs at 10:33 am.
