The warmup really gets going Tuesday but first, it’s a frosty and foggy start to the day. With the clear skies and moisture from Monday, fog has developed for much of southern and southeast Minnesota. A dense fog advisory is posted in those areas through 10 a.m.
Temperatures are below freezing for all of the state as well, so any of those wet areas from Monday have frozen. Watch out for slick spots.
We’ll have sunshine most of the day and our first 50 in the Twin Cities. Temperatures will range from the 40s north to near 60 in southwest Minnesota Tuesday afternoon.
It will be milder overnight with temperatures near freezing in northern Minnesota and above freezing for most of central and southern Minnesota Tuesday night into early Wednesday.
Expect even warmer temperatures Wednesday with highs well into the 40s north, 50s for most and more widespread 60s in southern Minnesota.
A cool front does move across Minnesota late Wednesday touching off a few light rain showers in northern Minnesota and dropping temperatures for Thursday and Friday slightly. It will still be above normal, however.
