A spring storm continues to pack a double punch of spring-like weather with respectable rainfall amounts and also a wintry punch with snow, lots of it in some places in northern Minnesota.
Thanks to this being our second significant rainfall this month, in the Twin Cities we’re now above the normal precipitation for March (which is 1.68 inches) at 2.13 inches with 0.92 inches from this recent storm so far. Many places have seen rainfall amounts of ½ inch to 1 inch or more.
Rain and snow showers will continue with snow being more dominant as we are on the colder backside of this storm system.
Additional snowfall Wednesday into Wednesday night will range from a coating to one inch on some grassy areas in the south, to at least a few more inches on the north shore of Lake Superior.
Winds will be blustery through the day as well, from the north at 10-20 mph, even higher west.
The cooler conditions persist into the weekend with brighter skies by Thursday afternoon.
