Get ready for a Minnesota weather bungee jump next week.
First, we endure one more unseasonably chilly March-like weekend in April. Saturday feels somewhat better with mixed sun and lighter winds. Highs this weekend will stagger into the 40s across southern Minnesota, with 30s up north.
Sunday brings yet another low-pressure system to Minnesota. This one will produce another mix of rain and snow showers moving from west to east across Minnesota Sunday afternoon and evening.
It looks likely we’ll see another band of accumulating snow across central and northern Minnesota by Monday morning. A light coating is possible again in the Twin Cities by Monday morning. Most of northern Minnesota looks likely to see another 2 to 4 inches of snow.

It’s been cold, but all that wind and rain took out the ice on many Twin Cities lakes this week.
Big warmup late next week
Forecast models Friday are still cranking out maps that look 25 to 30 degrees warmer for parts of Minnesota in a week’s time. Another midweek rain system ends with highs in the 50s across southern Minnesota Thursday.
By Friday, forecast models are pushing temperatures to around 60 degrees once again across the south.
Saturday appears to be the peak of the likely warm spell. The European model is pushing temperatures close to 80 degrees in the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota on Saturday, April 23.
