Wind advisories far northwestern Minnesota

This will be a gorgeous spring day.

Saturday highs will reach the 70s in most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

There’ll be some 60s in northeastern Minnesota, and a few spots up along the North Shore of Lake Superior might only reach the upper 50s.

It’ll be a bit breezy. Saturday afternoon wind gusts are forecast to top 20 mph in much of eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, and gusts could climb over 40 mph in the Red River Valley of northwestern Minnesota:

Forecast gusts are in knots, with 20 knots equal to 23 mph.

A wind advisory runs from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday for northwestern Minnesota counties along the Red River and for eastern North Dakota:

The daylight hours of Saturday look dry in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Showers and thunderstorms could move into western Minnesota after midnight, then spread eastward overnight.
