Morning fog and clouds will clear, allowing it to become hot and humid Thursday. More severe storms are possible Thursday evening into the overnight.
Morning fog, clouds clear, heating up
We had many severe weather reports Wednesday evening of course, including five tornado reports and many severe wind gusts. There were 33 reports of severe wind gusts in Minnesota, many of which were in the Twin Cities metro area. Shakopee reported the highest gust at 77 mph.
We have fog to start thanks to all that moisture Wednesday evening. That should burn off through the morning and we’ll see afternoon sun.
High temperatures will be well into the 80s with some low 90s, along with high dew points in the 60s and low 70s.

More severe storms possible Thursday evening
More storms will develop to the west in South Dakota and Nebraska late Thursday afternoon and track east.
There’s a moderate risk — a 4 out of 5 level risk— of severe storms in western Minnesota and an enhanced risk — a 3 out of 5 level risk — of severe storms Thursday evening into the overnight for much of central and southern Minnesota.
A slight risk exists for most of the rest of Minnesota.
Calm, beautiful weather sets in Friday
After another round of stormy weather late Thursday, we’ll see cooler and drier air move in and that will stabilize things into the weekend. It will still be warm and above average, well into the 70s for most.
Dew points will start sticky early Friday but drop into the 50s by afternoon. Saturday will yield sunshine and even drier, more comfortable dew points.
We’ll see dew point readings in the 40s by Saturday afternoon into Sunday.
