NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch until 10 p.m. for parts of southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa and Wisconsin.
Some storms within the watch zone will likely produce large hail and damaging winds. Tornadoes are also possible in the watch zone.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are still possible in the greater Twin Cities area Wednesday afternoon, but severe weather is unlikely.

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Tornado Watch for portions of Northeast Iowa Northwest Illinois Southeast Minnesota Wisconsin Lake Michigan
* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 225 PM until 1000 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include... A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible Widespread damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events to 3 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...A very favorable environment for severe thunderstorms continues to unfold across the region, with intense storm development including supercells expected through mid/late afternoon within a moist/very unstable environment. This includes potential for very large hail and tornadoes, a few of which could be strong, particularly across southwest Wisconsin into a broad part of central Wisconsin where conditions appear most favorable. By evening, damaging wind potential should also steadily increase across the eastern half of Wisconsin as storms merge/organize and race east-northeastward. The tornado watch area is approximately along and 105 statute miles north and south of a line from 45 miles north of Waterloo IA to 40 miles east northeast of Green Bay WI.
