It’s a pleasant morning with lingering clouds in northern Minnesota. We’ll have a partly cloudy and windy day Thursday as the break from the heat continues. Highs will be mainly in the 70s and low 80s south. Heat returns this weekend for most.
Nice Thursday and Friday
Perhaps the only thing to complain about Thursday will be the wind. Blustery west winds will howl at 15-25 mph with gusts of 30-45 mph.
High temperatures Thursday will still be above normal.
Friday will be again warm, but not hot. Lots of sun, but the heat dome will be just off to our south and west.
Hot for the weekend into next week
The heat returns with vengeance this weekend. Highs will be in the 90s in western Minnesota Saturday with 80s in the east.
By Sunday the 90s spread across much of Minnesota, except the northeast. Triple-digit temperatures are possible in west-central Minnesota Sunday afternoon. Those temperatures are possible Monday in the Twin Cities.
The heat may break somewhat by the middle of the week, but we’re in for several, consecutive hot days ahead.
