We could still use some rain across much of the area. But for those who want to get out and enjoy some fine early September weather, this will be one of the best Labor Day weekends I can recall.
A cooler and comfortable air mass brings high in the 70s Saturday and Sunday across most of Minnesota, with a few 60s up north.

By Labor Day, warmer air will begin to seep back into Minnesota from the west. Highs will be around 80 in the Twin Cities and climb into the 80s in western Minnesota.

Next week brings temperatures that will feel more July than September. Highs push back into the 80s, and I won’t be surprised to see another 90-degree temperature next week in western Minnesota.

Dry forecast
A persistent bubble of warm high pressure looks likely to keep most of Minnesota dry for the next week. Check out NOAA’s 7-day precipitation output. It keeps Minnesota and most of the western U.S. dry as a bone. Heavy rainfall favors the southern and southeast U.S. during the next week.

Enjoy the last unofficial weekend of summer in Minnesota.
