Temperatures will be unseasonably chilly Monday and Tuesday with highs just in the 30s Monday. Winds will blow from the north at 10-20 mph with gusts of 20-30 mph pushing wind chills into the 20s and teens. Monday night will bring frigid lows in the teens north and 20s south. A big warmup develops late week.
Unseasonably cold start to the week
The first 10 days of October started very warm, but temperatures Monday will be about 20 degrees below normal for the date, which ranges from the upper 40s to upper 50s across Minnesota, north to south. We’ll continue blustery north winds making it feel even colder.
Monday night will bring our coldest temperatures yet this season with lows falling into the teens for many places in northern and central Minnesota with low to mid-20s elsewhere.
Tuesday will be another chilly day with highs in the 30s and 40s but we start to turn temperatures around Wednesday as 50s return to southern Minnesota.
Substantial warmup late week
The week will be quite a roller coaster in the temperature department with highs returning back into the 60s and 70s across southern Minnesota by Friday into the weekend.
