Rain chances rise Sunday night

An approaching cold front is expected to spawn some areas of showers and thunderstorms in Minnesota and western Wisconsin late Sunday.

Scattered areas of showers and thunderstorms could develop as we go through Sunday afternoon, with a much better chance of rain and embedded thunderstorms Sunday evening and overnight into Monday.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 7 a.m. Sunday to 7 p.m. Sunday:

Fall color update
