We’ll be a few degrees warmer in most areas today, but our winds will really ramp up this afternoon.
Sunday highs will range from upper 30s in northwestern Minnesota to lower 50s in the south:
Snow shower chance far north
Parts of north-central and northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin will see scattered rain and snow showers early Sunday morning, then northwestern and north-central Minnesota will have a snow shower chance Sunday afternoon and evening.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 10 a.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Sunday:

Strong winds
A strong low-pressure system will move across south-central Canada on Sunday, bringing gusty winds to Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.
Here are the forecasted wind gusts:
A wind advisory covers northwestern, central and parts of southern Minnesota from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday:
A wind advisory runs from Sunday afternoon through Sunday night along and near the North Shore of Lake Superior:
Gale warnings continue Sunday afternoon and through the overnight hours for Lake Superior.
Here are forecast wind gusts and advisories for northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota
Because of the strong winds and the low relative humidity levels in our Sunday forecast, a red flag warning has been issued for central Minnesota and much of southern Minnesota:
Outdoor burning is not recommended today, due to the potential rapid spread of any fires.
