Hello, snow season.
Generally light to moderate snow bands sailed through Minnesota pretty much as expected Monday. Most of the Twin Cities and Minnesota picked up 1 or 2 inches of slushy snowfall as of midday.
Snow has currently ended here at the Weather Lab in the suburbs southwest of the Twin Cities. It will taper in the eastern Twin Cities this afternoon. The afternoon commute should be better overall on treated roads.
Here are some select snowfall totals coming into the Weather Lab so far:

Lake effect boosts North Shore snow totals
Lake-effect snowfall will continue to pile up along and above the North Shore. Some locations could pick up a fresh foot of November snow.
Another shot Tuesday
Phase 2 of our snowy week arrives Tuesday. Another shot of moisture will push up into Minnesota from the south over our relatively cold air dome.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s NAM 3 km model shows the moisture surge coming north from Iowa Tuesday and generating more light to moderate snow across much of Minnesota.
Overall snowfall totals are likely to be similar to Monday’s. The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts model cranks out another 1 to 3 inches of slushy snow for much of central Minnesota Tuesday.
Temps like January late this week
The strongest cold front of the season so far arrives later this week. Highs by Friday will hover in the teens across Minnesota.
Lows by Saturday morning will likely dip to subzero up north Saturday morning.
Temperatures look likely to moderate above freezing again Thanksgiving week.
