The Saturday high temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport didn’t quite make it to 40 degrees, topping out at 39 degrees. That’s plenty warm; our average Feb. 11 Twin Cities high temp is 27 degrees. St. Paul reported a Saturday high of 40.
Some of the warmest Saturday afternoon temps were in northern Minnesota. International Falls and Hibbing both set new Feb. 11 record highs of 47 degrees:
I noticed reports of 46 degrees at Walker, Grand Rapids and Ely, Minn. at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see above-normal temps over the next few days.

Fog in some areas
As winds lighten up Saturday night, areas of fog will develop in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. There could be dense fog in some locations, especially in southwestern Minnesota and parts of west-central Minnesota. Fog will linger into Sunday morning in many spots.

Temperature trends
Sunday highs will reach the upper 30s in many locations:
A few spots could touch 40 degrees, and the Bemidji area might reach the lower 40s.
Looking ahead, Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to be around 40 degrees Monday and Tuesday, followed by upper 30s Wednesday, lower 20s Thursday and around 20 on Friday.
Next rain and snow chances?
Parts of far northern Minnesota could see a passing sprinkle or flurry Saturday night and Sunday morning.
A low-pressure system will spread rain into Minnesota and western Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon, with periods of rain lingering through Tuesday night. The rain will change to a rain-snow mix on Wednesday. Parts of western Minnesota may see a changeover to mainly snow by late Tuesday, with the snow continuing into Wednesday.

Twin Cities snow update
So far this month, the official Twin Cities snowfall total (measured at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport) is just one-tenth of an inch.
Despite that fact, our Twin Cities season snowfall total of 55.6 inches is 22.5 inches higher than our average snow total to this point in our snow season:
