Minnesota weather usually fluctuates widely when moving into spring. And with the possibility snowfall occurring only a couple of days after 80-degree-weather, one MPR listener wanted to know what is the likelihood of seeing snowfall again in May.
According to retired University of Minnesota climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, in over 140 years in the Twin Cities, we’ve only had measurable snowfall 22 times in May, which has become more sparse in recent years.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Seeley about that and a look ahead at Severe Weather Awareness Week.
