We finally made it to average, Minnesota.
The average high for Wednesday in the Twin Cities is 64 degrees. We’ve already hit 63 degrees as of this post and we’re likely to top out in the mid to upper 60s.
Highs across Minnesota this Wednesday (see the map above) will reach 70 in the western parts of Minnesota. By Thursday highs above 70 will reach the Twin Cities once again.
Scattered showers ahead
The timing could be better. A low-pressure system will drift toward Minnesota this weekend. It will produce scattered, occasional showers and a possible thunderstorm Friday and Saturday.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale model shows scattered rains with this system. The loop below runs between 1 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday.
Many forecast models suggest between one-quarter to one-half inch of precipitation Friday and Saturday. Up to an inch is possible in western Minnesota.
Highs will be a little cooler with more clouds Friday and Saturday.
Highs will return to the 70s early next week.
So, warmer air is here. Now we just need to work on timing the warmer sunnier days for the weekend.
