Heat is building back in for the week across Minnesota with a string of 90s developing. A slowly moving system will create chance of rain and thunder mid to late week in the west and statewide by the weekend.
Heating up
Temperatures are heating back up this week for most of Minnesota and the central United States into Canada. Temperatures will be climbing back up to 10 degrees or more above normal. Look for highs near 90 south with low to mid 90s possible in west central Minnesota.
Much of southern and western Minnesota will see a string of 90s through the week. The North Shore will be the one spot with cooler conditions, mainly in the 70s and low 80s as southeast winds blow off Lake Superior.
Dew points will be on and off muggy as well in the 50s and 60s.
Unsettled weather develops late week
A slowly moving upper-level trough and front will be making its way east mid to late week into the weekend creating the chances of spotty showers and thunderstorms mainly in northern and western Minnesota with chances increasing southeast by the weekend.
