Heat, reduced air quality continue
We’ve racked up seven days in the 90s so far this year in the Twin Cities, after Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday will make it eight.
Thursday will continue to be hot in southern Minnesota but start to cool in the northwest as clouds and the chance of showers increase.
High levels of ozone will continue to create unhealthy air quality across central and southern Minnesota Wednesday and Thursday. All people should limit time outdoors in the afternoon and evening hours, but especially those with underlying conditions.

Slow moving rain, thunder still on track
Wednesday will see some showers and thunder in far northwestern Minnesota as the next system inches very slowly eastward.
That precipitation chance will increase into more of northern and western Minnesota Thursday into Friday and become possible statewide by Saturday and Sunday.
It’s still looking promising that we could see more of a widespread significant rainfall total through the weekend.
