It’s a hit-or-miss rainfall pattern again today across Minnesota.

There’s just enough moisture and instability in our atmosphere to pop a few spotty thunderstorms today and Saturday. As of this post, a pretty feisty cell with nice beneficial local downpours is working through St. Paul and the eastern Twin Cities.

NOAA’s FV3 model shows a similar pattern taking shape for Saturday afternoon. The loop (top of post) below runs between noon and 6 pm Saturday.

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center paints a marginal (low) risk for a few severe cells Saturday afternoon across our region.
