Temperatures trend upward; Phoenix streak of 110+ high temps continues

Mainly dry to start the week

We enjoyed comfortable temperatures and dew points this weekend. We’ll see a gradual uptick in both categories over the next few days.

The Sunday high temperature at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 81 degrees, which is 2 degrees shy of the average July 30 high temperature in the Twin Cities.

Much of Minnesota and western Minnesota saw Sunday highs in the 70s, with a few spots in southern and west-central Minnesota reaching the lower 80s.

Monday high temps will be mainly in the 80s:

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the upper 80s on Tuesday, then around 90 Wednesday followed by lower 90s Thursday and mid 80s on Friday.

Rain chances are limited

Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have a dry Monday. Southwestern Minnesota could see a few scattered showers and thunderstorms.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from 5 a.m. Monday to 9 p.m. Monday:
