We saw significant rainfall Sunday night and those showers are lingering into Monday across southern Minnesota. Sunshine is back Tuesday and 90 degrees could return by week’s end.
After significant rainfall, lingering showers and cool Monday
A wide swath of over one inch of rain fell across much of central Minnesota Sunday night into early Monday. Some areas saw two or more inches around St. Cloud to Elk River. At the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, 1.38 inches of rain fell as of 8 a.m., making it the biggest precipitation event since March 31.

Scattered showers will linger across central and southeast Minnesota into early Monday afternoon. Some places could pick up an additional quarter inch of rainfall.

The clouds and showers will keep temperatures cool south, just in the 60s to low 70s but northwest Minnesota should see some sun and will be warmer.

Thursday will be a bit cooler behind the cold front but heat will be building in pretty quickly Friday into the weekend. We could be in for at least couple 90 degree days this weekend into next week.
