The Sunday high temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 60 degrees. That’s just a couple of degrees cooler than the average Oct. 8 Twin Cities high temp.

Monday highs will be in the 50s in most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach the upper 50s on Wednesday, followed by mid 50s Thursday and lower 50s on Friday.

Rain chances later this week

A low pressure system will pass to our south later this week. It’s expected to spin some rain over roughly the southern third of Minnesota and much of Wisconsin from Thursday afternoon and evening into Friday. Check forecast updates, since the track of that system will determine the timing and coverage of the rain.

Final 70s

We don’t have any 70s in the Twin Cities 7-day forecast, but I decided to check the final 70 degree or warmer reading at MSP airport for each of the past five years.

Here’s that tally of final 70s:

2022 Nov. 2

2021 Oct. 19

2020 Nov. 8

2019 Oct. 9

2018 Oct. 18

That’s quite a range of dates!
