A warm front will blow unseasonably warm air across Minnesota on Tuesday. Whistling southerly winds, gusting over 30 mph at times, will blow warm air from the Central Plains all the way north into Canada.
Wind advisory
The windiest part of the state will be the Buffalo Ridge area of southwestern Minnesota, including Lincoln, Lyon, Murray and Cottonwood counties, where a wind advisory has been posted until 5 p.m. Tuesday. Gusts in that area could reach 50 mph at times.
Afternoon high temperatures will reach the 60s in about the southern half of Minnesota. Northern parts of the state will be in the game also with highs in the 50s. Cities like Grand Rapids, Ely and International Falls should see mid 50s.
The Twin Cities should reach about 65 with a south wind increasing to 20-30 mph. Some gusts could approach 40 mph by midday.

Quiet Wednesday; cold front Thursday
Wednesday will be a little less warm, but with very little wind should be a fine day for a bicycle ride or leaf raking.
A cold front with gusty winds will come our way from the northwest with more seasonable temperatures beginning on Thursday. Temperatures will slip downward behind the front later in that day.
A little light rain or snow is possible along the northern edge of Minnesota. But the rest of the state and all of Wisconsin should have a dry day.
Seasonable Friday; pleasant weekend
That cold front will end our run of October-like weather. Friday will be the coolest day of the week with high temperatures near normal.
The weekend looks dry with a little temperature recovery and should be good for outdoor activities. Afternoon highs are likely to be in the upper 30s in the northeast, 40s for most of the state, and some low to mid-50s possible in the southwest.
Cooler and a bit unsettled next week
Forecast models so far are not predicting any major storms for Minnesota or western Wisconsin early next week in the run-up to Thanksgiving. But weak disturbances might kick of a little snow or rain at times.
Of greater confidence is that temperatures will cool next week and might even be cooler than normal on some days. Below is the eight to 14-day temperature outlook for Nov. 21-27. That’s from next Tuesday through the Monday after Thanksgiving.
