On average, November is the cloudiest month of the year in the Twin Cities. That’s why I really appreciate November sunshine.
A high pressure system will bring plenty of sunshine and fairly light winds to Minnesota and Wisconsin today. Temperatures will be above normal today and Sunday.
Temperature trends
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 41 degrees on Nov. 18. Metro area highs are forecast to reach the mid 50s Saturday afternoon.
Roughly the southern half of Minnesota will see Saturday highs in the 50s, with mainly 40s in the north. Some spots along the Red River Valley in northwestern Minnesota will touch 50 degrees. A few locations in southwestern Minnesota could reach the lower 60s.

Sunday highs will be in the 50s from central and southern Minnesota into west-central Wisconsin:
Much of northern Minnesota will have Sunday high temps in the 40s.
Monday highs will be mainly in the 40s:
Colder temps arrive Tuesday and Wednesday then really chilly air will stay parked over us on Thursday and Friday. Twin Cities metro area highs are projected be around 40 degrees on Tuesday, followed by upper 30s Wednesday. Metro area highs could be around 30 degrees this coming Thursday and Friday.
Mainly dry weekend
Saturday and most of Sunday will be dry in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. A low pressure system will push some cloud cover into southwestern Minnesota Sunday morning and some of those clouds will spread slowly northeastward Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening.
Southwestern Minnesota could see some rain showers Sunday evening into Monday morning. Parts of west-central and south-central Minnesota could also see scattered rain showers during that time.
Portions of northern Minnesota will have a chance of rain showers Monday afternoon, followed by some areas or rain and snow showers Monday night into early Tuesday.

Forecast maps aren’t showing any big storms in Minnesota or Wisconsin this coming Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. It looks like parts of north-central and northeastern Minnesota could see a few flakes on Wednesday. Check forecast updates.

Weather observers at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport have not reported any measurable snow this November and they’ve tallied just two-hundredths of an inch of rain.
