Periods of light snow into early afternoon; gusty winds today

Snow continues in the Chicago area

The first measurable November snow at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport arrived Saturday evening. The snow total by midnight was four-tenths of an inch. Additional periods of light snow fell after midnight and that snow will be included in the Sunday snow total.

Much of northern and eastern Minnesota will see periods of light snow this morning, with scattered snow showers possible elsewhere in Minnesota. Western Wisconsin will also see some flakes at times.

Periods of light snow could linger into early Sunday afternoon in the Twin Cities metro area, followed by a flurry chance.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Sunday:

Additional snow today in the Twin Cities metro area is generally expected to be one-half inch or less, but a few spotty higher amounts are possible.

Parts of far north-central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will see heavier snow totals later today into Monday, as moisture is added to the winds traveling over Lake Superior:
