Wednesday will continue the mild weather with temperatures that will be a few degrees warmer. The weekend will bring even warmer readings with rain developing Sunday.
More mild weather with rain developing this weekend
Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer Wednesday. Look for highs near 40 across southern Minnesota with partly cloudy skies. Northern Minnesota will see more clouds and temperatures closer to 30 degrees.
These readings are 10 to 15 degrees above normal for Dec. 20. Normal highs range from the upper teens north to upper 20s south.
Temperatures trend upward even more Friday and into the weekend. We’ll see highs well into the 40s with even some low 50s in southwest Minnesota. That warming trend will play into the next system which will bring rain to the state Sunday into Christmas Day.
The best chance of significant snow looks to stay mostly west with this system.
