Clouds will increase Thursday ahead of a weak disturbance that could touch off a few sprinkles Friday. The main rain event is still Sunday into Tuesday with very mild temperatures continuing.
Increasing clouds Thursday with rain by Sunday
Thursday will continue to be very mild with highs in the 40s across southern Minnesota and 30s north. These readings are again 15 or more degrees above normal. Clouds will be on the increase ahead of a weak disturbance Friday.
The upper level disturbance Friday will merely touch off a few sprinkles or a few rain or snow mixed showers north. Otherwise, it’s up, up and away on temperatures into the weekend. We’ll see highs in the low 50s across southern Minnesota Saturday and Sunday.
The larger, slower moving storm system brings rain showers Sunday into Monday and Tuesday on and off. A narrow area of snow is possible on the western edge of the storm in northwest Minnesota into Monday and possible farther south by Tuesday.
Temperatures will continue to be well above normal through next week though not quite as warm as the weekend’s record temperatures.
