Friday and Saturday will be cold before a rapid warmup builds into Minnesota. Highs will be in the 30s to near 40 degrees next week.
A couple more cold days before milder weather
Cold air is reinforced across the region in the wake of yesterday’s disturbance that brought snow to far southern Minnesota. Highs Friday will be mostly in the single digits. There are wind chill advisories in the southwest, southeast and northeast corners of the state as well.
Morning wind chills will be in the teens and 20s below zero. We’ll also have lingering clouds much of the day Friday. Friday night will bring temperatures well below zero again statewide as skies clear back out.
Look for lots of sunshine Saturday, and while still chilly, it will be a few degrees warmer.
Temperatures will be closer to normal Sunday with highs near 20 in southern Minnesota.
Next week will bring much warmer readings with highs in the 30s all week in southern Minnesota to even near 40 degrees. Even northern Minnesota will see some above freezing days midweek.
