Tuesday will bring more mild temperatures, but also clouds. Look for patchy wintry precipitation chances south and statewide Wednesday night into Thursday.
Mild with only minor precipitation chances
The mild weather continues with highs back in the low to middle 30s across southern Minnesota Tuesday. Northern Minnesota will see highs in the 20s.
There’s some freezing fog and a few flurries across far southern Minnesota with cloudy skies statewide. Some roadways in southern Minnesota are reporting partially ice-covered roadways due to freezing fog Tuesday morning. Many of us will likely take a turn with some fog and even freezing fog over the next 48 hours with the mild, moist air mass in place.
Lows Tuesday night will fall back only into the 20s to around 30 in southeastern Minnesota.
Highs Wednesday will be above freezing for almost all of Minnesota.
The next minor system to affect Minnesota will bring a wintry mix of light rain or freezing precipitation late Wednesday into Thursday. Any ice or snow accumulation looks to be minor.
The well-above-normal temperatures continue into next week when temperatures could be even warmer, potentially near record highs. About half of our medium range forecast models have highs reaching 50 degrees or warmer in portions of southern Minnesota.
