Areas of fog Saturday morning; western Minnesota has best chance for sun

Dense fog advisories in some areas this morning

We have a murky start to our Saturday.

Fog covers much of Minnesota and Wisconsin this morning, and some locations will have freezing fog at times.

Dense fog advisories are posted this morning for portions of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin:

The dense fog advisory In Carlton County and southern St. Louis County of northeastern Minnesota continues until noon Saturday. The dense fog advisory in southwestern Minnesota also runs until noon.

Dense fog advisories expire at 10 a.m. Saturday in the other Minnesota counties that are shaded gray.

The Twin Cities metro area is not in a dense fog advisory this morning, but the metro area will have areas of fog and possibly a bit of freezing fog at times.

Feels like March

The average Twin Cities low temperature is 8 degrees this time of year and the average high temp is 24 degrees.

The low temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 31 degrees this morning and metro area highs will reach the upper 30s this afternoon.

Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have Saturday highs in the 30s:

There will be a few upper 20s in far northwestern Minnesota.

Any sunshine?

Western Minnesota has the best chance of seeing sunshine Saturday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential cloud coverage from 8 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Saturday:

Pesky clouds are expected in much of eastern Minnesota plus most of Wisconsin.
