Warm with gusty winds and periods of rain Thursday. Snow coming to northwest Minnesota

Wind advisory far southern Minnesota

Precipitation has finally returned! Today’s rain is the first measurable precipitation at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport since Jan. 19.

Periods of rain continue today, with some breaks in the rain at times. The rain changes to snow in northern Minnesota Thursday evening and overnight.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday:

A thunderstorm is also possible in southern Minnesota and parts of Iowa and Wisconsin Thursday afternoon and evening.
