Tuesday will bring another mild day with a mix of clouds and sun. Snow showers will be possible north Tuesday night and nearly statewide late Wednesday into Thursday.
Mild then snowfall possible Wednesday night
Tuesday will be yet another mild day in what sounds like a broken record this winter. Highs will be in the low 40s across southwest Minnesota to the mid-30s in the Twin Cities and upper 20s to near 30 in northern Minnesota. Those readings are nearly 10 to 20 degrees above normal.
We’ll have a mix of clouds and sun during the day Tuesday with scattered clouds overnight. Low temperatures will fall into the 20s mostly with some teens in far northeast Minnesota Tuesday night.
There’ll be an initial band of light snow showers Tuesday night primarily for northern Minnesota but the real ‘event’ comes late Wednesday into mostly Wednesday night as snow develops for southern Minnesota.
It’s increasingly looking likely that we’ll see an accumulating snowfall (the first measurable one for the Twin Cities in three and a half weeks). Some places could see a few inches even.
Behind the system it will be colder, at least briefly, for Friday. Milder temperatures build back int by the end of the weekend.
