Our weekend high temperatures will be a bit warmer than average and we aren’t expecting any snow or rain in Minnesota or western Wisconsin.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday:
We’ll see plenty of sunshine this weekend, although northeastern Minnesota could start out with some clouds Saturday morning, followed by decreasing cloudiness Saturday afternoon.

Weekend temps and winds
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 38 degrees on March 9. Twin Cities metro area highs will be in the lower to middle 40s this Saturday.
Highs in the 40s are expected across the southern half of Minnesota plus west-central Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, with 30s in northern Minnesota:
It’ll be a bit breezy in southern and eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, with gusts of 15 to 20 mph:
Sunday highs will be in the 50s in west-central and southern Minnesota, with mainly 40s elsewhere:
Twin Cities metro area highs are expected to be around 50 degrees on Sunday, but one forecast model shows high temps in the lower 50s in the metro area Sunday afternoon.
An approaching low-pressure system could bring wind gusts of 15-22 mph to western Minnesota Sunday afternoon:
Wind gusts of 25 mph or higher are possible in far northwestern Minnesota Sunday afternoon.
Spring ahead
Daylight saving time returns at 2 a.m. Sunday. If you have any watches or clocks that don’t automatically adjust, you might want to turn them ahead one hour before you go to sleep Saturday night. The Twin Cities on Sunday will see sunset at 7:13 p.m.
