It sure looks like the last of any significant wintry weather may now be behind us. I can’t rule out another snowflake or two this spring, but I’m increasingly tempted to remove the snow stakes from the Weather Lab driveway.

Our windy Wednesday gives way to quieter weather and more sunshine through Saturday. High temperatures will gradually warm this week. Highs in the 50s return to most of Minnesota by Friday.

Saturday brings even milder temperatures. The 60s push farther eastward.

We cool a bit Sunday through about next Tuesday with highs generally in the 50s. Then the next wave of warmer air arrives later next week.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Global Forecast System model suggests temperatures in the 60s and lower 70s for southern Minnesota by the weekend of April 13-14.

It’s beginning to look a lot like true spring in these parts. Those tulip shoots that popped up early this year may be blooming in the next 10 days.
