Spotty, pop-up showers will be around the state Thursday. It will be cooler — mostly in the 50s — with winds increasing to 15-30 mph from the northwest. Warm air returns this weekend.
Some showers and cooler temps with increasing winds Thursday
Look for spotty, pop-up showers Thursday. They will be largely instability driven thanks to a mix of clouds and sunshine combined with cooler air moving in aloft.
Most rainfall amounts will be light. Highs Thursday afternoon will be cooler, mostly in the 50s across the state.
Winds will also increase from the northwest at 15-30 mph this afternoon. Gusts will be as high as 30-40 mph in southwest Minnesota.
Friday will bring back sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures. Most of southern Minnesota will see low 60s in the afternoon.
Much warmer air is back for the weekend with widespread highs in the 70s both Saturday and Sunday across central and southern Minnesota. Most will see sun, too, except far northern Minnesota which will see more clouds and potential showers Sunday.
