Democratic state Sen. Nicole Mitchell was charged with first-degree burglary on Tuesday, a day after she was arrested at a home in Detroit Lakes.

American Crystal Sugar, headquartered in Moorhead, has violated air quality standards at its Grand Forks facility, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Less than one year ago, its Moorhead and Crookston locations was found responsible for water pollution.

Former Fargo Public Schools teacher and athletic trainer Levi Tande has been sentenced to three years in prison for sexually assaulting a student, the Fargo Forum reports.

Fargo residents: Keep an ear out on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. A severe weather siren test is set to sound.
