Thursday will be warmer with some high clouds. Winds increase again and stay high as rain and thunderstorms develop on and off Friday into the weekend.
Wind returns ahead of significant storm system
It will be warmer Thursday with highs well into the 60s to near 70. Highs in western Minnesota will reach into the low 70s while northeastern Minnesota, especially near the North Shore, will be cooler.
Blustery winds return by Thursday afternoon from the south at 15-30 mph. This is ahead of our next storm system. Winds will remain high through the weekend.
Showers and thunderstorms will develop early Friday and spread from southwest to northeast across the region into Saturday.

This is just the first wave of moisture. We’ll get a break across southern Minnesota much of Saturday before a second wave brings more showers and storms Sunday into Sunday night.
In total, portions of southern Minnesota could see more than 3 inches of rain in some spots between Friday and Monday.
There will also be the chance of some severe weather in far southern Minnesota Friday into Saturday night. There’s a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather for areas mainly south of the Minnesota River.
Temperatures become consistently warmer next week after the storm passes with highs in the low 70s south to 60s north Tuesday through Friday.
