Welcome to May in Minnesota.

May is my second favorite month in Minnesota. The combination of warmer days, a bursting green landscape, longer daylight, and relatively few bugs make for great outdoor activities in May. I love June the most because of the longest daylight of the year.

This week brings a fine run of weather with just a few spotty rain chances. We’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine this week. The normal high and low this week for the Twin Cities are 69 and 50 degrees.

The most likely rain chance arrives Wednesday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s NAM 3 km model shows a weak low-pressure wave drifting across Minnesota with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible Wednesday.

The loop below runs between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday.

This should be a great week to get out and enjoy all that Minnesota has to offer in springtime.
