Welcome to May in Minnesota.
May is my second favorite month in Minnesota. The combination of warmer days, a bursting green landscape, longer daylight, and relatively few bugs make for great outdoor activities in May. I love June the most because of the longest daylight of the year.
This week brings a fine run of weather with just a few spotty rain chances. We’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine this week. The normal high and low this week for the Twin Cities are 69 and 50 degrees.
The most likely rain chance arrives Wednesday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s NAM 3 km model shows a weak low-pressure wave drifting across Minnesota with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible Wednesday.

Temperatures will be very pleasant this week. Tuesday through Thursday brings highs in the 60s and 70s across Minnesota.
Friday and Saturday look like the warmest days this week. Highs on Friday will nudge toward the 80-degree mark in the south and west.
Saturday brings highs near 80 again to the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota.
This should be a great week to get out and enjoy all that Minnesota has to offer in springtime.
