Wednesday will be a quieter day. Clouds decrease south to north. An isolated evening thundershower is possible. It will also be windy. More rain arrives Friday.
Storm reports and rainfall
While the worst of the severe weather stayed in Iowa, there were numerous wind damage reports in southeastern Minnesota and a couple possible brief funnels or a tornado to investigate in southern Minnesota.
There was also a lot of rainfall. A large area of 2 to 3 inches of rain fell from south-central Minnesota through the Twin Cities and up the North Shore. Officially in the Twin Cities at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, 2.15 inches fell. Hinckley saw 3.34 inches.
Decreasing clouds Wednesday
Clouds will continue to decrease from southwest to northeast through the day Wednesday. An isolated thundershower is possible in the evening across central and northern Minnesota.

High temperatures will be in the low 70s south to the 50s north.

Thursday should be another pleasant day with sunshine through some high clouds. Temperatures will be warmer.
Another system develops for the end of the week. Scattered showers and some thunder develop late in the day Thursday and overnight in western Minnesota, spreading east into Friday.
There’s a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of possible severe weather in western Minnesota late Thursday. The main threat would be one or two storms producing brief, high wind gusts or large hail.
The weekend won’t be completely dry, but it certainly will not be a washout. The best chance of a couple showers or a thunderstorm will be in northern Minnesota Saturday and western Minnesota Sunday with a slightly better statewide chance for Memorial Day. Most activity will be brief and hit-and-miss.
Temperatures will be cooler than the past couple of Memorial Day weekends. Highs will be near 70 degrees south to the 60s north.
