Coolest Memorial Day weekend in 3 years
It was an unsettled Memorial Day weekend with overall temperatures below normal. It was also the coolest since 2021.
Almost all of the state saw at least some rainfall over the weekend. The heaviest was in central Minnesota with locations around St. Cloud receiving between 1 and 2 inches.
There were also several reports of non-severe (smaller than 1 inch) hail from New Ulm to Mankato, Chaska and Cannon Falls.

Unsettled Tuesday; sun returns Wednesday
An upper-level low is still spinning instability through Minnesota and Wisconsin Tuesday. Look for spotty showers and a couple thunderstorms along with a mix of clouds and sun. The best chance for showers will be the eastern half of Minnesota into Wisconsin.
The clouds and showers will keep things cooler too. Highs will range from the mid-60s to just upper 50s north.
High pressure builds in for Wednesday bringing back abundant sunshine and warmer temperatures.
Clouds increase Thursday in western Minnesota with rain already developing late in the day. That system will bring showers to the entire state into Friday, lingering some into Saturday.
We’ll also see a warming trend in temperatures with 80s becoming more frequent Sunday into next week as we head into June.
