Sunny Friday; more showers Friday night
After a couple of unsettled days we’ll see abundant sunshine Friday much of the day. Clouds will increase west ahead of the next disturbance into the overnight but we’ll see sun return for Saturday again.
Highs Friday will be warmer thanks to more sun. Southern Minnesota will see highs in the mid to upper 70s with highs near 70 north.
Our next upper-level disturbance will bring mainly overnight showers to the state Friday night. Rainfall amounts should generally be light, less than one-half inch, although there will be some localized heavier amounts.

Warming trend next week
The next round of showers develops Tuesday then things could be heating up late next week. The models have been struggling with how quickly and to what extent to bring the western heat dome into the central United States next week.
Regardless of how hot and for how long, the temperatures look likely to trend warmer next week. Both the six to 10-day and eight to 14-day outlooks call for likely above normal temperatures.
Normal highs next week range from 73 degrees in International Falls to close to 80 for southern Minnesota.
